Emma Ramsay

Emma’s warm and responsive approach puts clients quickly at ease and ready to work with her to resolve the issues.

Understanding that the sensitivity with which the law is applied is often as important as the law itself, Emma provides advice which carefully balances the legal and commercial pressures while reflecting the values of the organisation - advice that clients will also be comfortable implementing.

While Emma has worked across all sectors, she has developed a deep understanding of employment law issues within the education sector.

Drawing on her experience as a legal adviser, her role as a college clerk, and time as a governor of both mainstream and special needs schools, Emma has gained a considerable reputation for her approach to this sector’s particular employment law challenges.

Emma advises on a wide range of employment law issues. Her particular expertise is in complex redundancy and restructuring programmes, high level performance management, industrial relations issues, equality and diversity and the impact of governance on managing employees.

Emma joined a niche employment law firm in 2009, where she and Stephanie first worked together.

Emma lives in Sherborne, Dorset. Outside work, apart from a busy family life with two teenage boys, Emma and her family have a love of sport, travel and being active in the local community. Emma is also a governor at a local special needs school.
